About The Position

The Instruction and Curriculum Lead will provide leadership in the oversight of departmental quality assurance objectives. Serve as the Lead Instructor for High School Equivalency (HSE), English as a Second Language (ESL) Integrated Education and Training (IET), and Adult Basic Education (ABE). Serve as the Professional Development Coordinator to the extent outlined in the program grant. Assist the Quality Assurance mission by maintaining the quality of the program across various metrics, including teaching methods, materials, and outcomes. Conduct regular audits and assessments of instructional staff to help ensure that the program delivers as contracted and meets continuous improvement standards. Work in concert with the Director, Program Manager, Coordinator of Enrollment and Career Navigator to align and execute organizational goals across areas of responsibility.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field with two (2) years directly related full-time work experience.
  • Directly related, part-time work experience will be pro-rated and the finalized pro-rated calculation must meet the minimum requirements.
  • Thorough knowledge of adult education principles, quality assurance, professional development, classroom instruction, and computer use.
  • Expertise in adult learning theory and curriculum design.
  • Knowledge of Texas Workforce Commission Adult Education and Literacy (AEL) policies and federal WIOA Title II requirements.
  • Knowledge of educational technology, distance education, and AI-supported instructional practices.

Responsibilities

  • Lead development, implementation, evaluation, and continuous improvement of curriculum aligned with Texas AEL Content Standards.
  • Serve as the instructional lead for ABE, ASE/HSE, ESL, IET, and distance education.
  • Design and facilitate a comprehensive professional development program.
  • Establish an instructional coaching model that includes classroom observations, feedback, mentoring, and improvement plans.
  • Analyze TEAMS, M1F, CASAS, and performance data to identify trends and recommend interventions.
  • Develop instructional dashboards and present program performance reports to leadership.
  • Lead quality assurance reviews and corrective action planning.
  • Oversee onboarding and mentoring of new instructional staff.
  • Oversee student orientation process.
  • Lead adoption and evaluation of instructional materials and digital learning platforms.
  • Coordinate AI and educational technology integration while ensuring compliance with program policy.
  • Serve as a career pathways team member during curriculum design supporting workforce preparation, career pathways, IELCE, and IET.
  • Support grant implementation, monitoring, performance benchmarks, and continuous improvement activities.
  • Attend approved conferences, training, and professional development opportunities and serve as the Trainer of Trainers to ensure staff development.
  • Participate in Temple College programs and events at the discretion of the Director based on TWC contractual guidelines and the needs of the AEL program.
  • Teach classes as operational needs require.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned by the Director and Associate Director (AD) or Designee.
