About The Position

The North American Institutional Sales group within the Barings Global Client Group is seeking a Sales Associate to support the sales, relationship management and consultant relations activities of Barings’ insurance clients within North America. This position provides an excellent opportunity to learn and grow within a dynamic sales organization. The location of this position will be in our global headquarters in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Requirements

  • 1-3 years of investment related experience
  • Excellent analytical, written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent time-management, multi-tasking and organization skills
  • A positive, collegial attitude and a high level of professionalism
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment or on individual projects
  • Self-motivated, hard worker and eager to learn
  • Strong skills in Excel is required; experience with Salesforce is strongly preferred

Responsibilities

  • Provide support on existing and prospective clients, including data requests, cross-selling opportunities and meetings
  • Assist the Insurance sales team in all aspects of territory analysis, prospecting, lead generation, and pipeline management
  • Drive market research to improve the team’s knowledge of the insurance market as well as the team’s effectiveness and efficiency of investment team road show activity
  • Coordinate with Business Development and Marketing on all client-related events
  • Develop thorough understanding of the firm’s investment capabilities, products and competitive positioning
  • Collaborate effectively across the business units within Barings
  • Ad-hoc project work, as required
