About The Position

Reporting to the Manager, Health Services, the Institutional Nurse provides comprehensive nursing care to clients housed in Nunavut custodial facilities. Working within a secure correctional environment, the role delivers culturally responsive, ethical, and evidence-based health services in accordance with the Nunavut Standards of Nursing Practice and the Canadian Nurses Association Code of Ethics. The position supports health promotion, disease prevention, treatment, and continuity of care within a secure custodial environment. This position is based on the 42 hours pay grid, 12 hour shifts 4 days on and 4 days off.

Requirements

  • Must be a resident of Iqaluit.
  • Must have a valid nursing license.
  • Must adhere to Nunavut Standards of Nursing Practice.
  • Must adhere to the Canadian Nurses Association Code of Ethics.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working in a correctional environment.
  • Knowledge of Inuit Qaujimajatuqangit.
