Requirements

• Three years of institution safety work, including one year of fire prevention and fire fighting work, and completion of two years of college; or One year of institutional fire and safety work, and a bachelor's degree; or Any equivalent combination of experience and training.
• You must be able to perform essential job functions.
• A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination.
• This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act. Under the Act, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance.

Responsibilities

• Develop and run a facility-wide safety program that aligns with state requirements and departmental policies
• Manage security officers and direct daily security activities, including patrols, monitoring, and emergency response actions
• Investigate workplace incidents, identify risks, and recommend corrective actions to prevent recurrences
• Coordinate disaster and fire drills, test emergency plans, and train staff in proper response procedures
• Inspect facilities, maintain safety-related equipment, and ensure adherence to local, state, and federal standards
• Provide safety education, conduct required training sessions, and guide employees in safe work practices
