In this role, you are responsible for reading and interpreting proper installation specifications for various construction projects. You will determine floor plan layouts, power distribution, backup power supplies, and cabling of central office equipment. You will also identify and request parts necessary for various installations, create comprehensive installation specifications and equipment requirements, and create or correct location records, drawings, bill of materials (BOM), installation notes, and memos to reflect additions and modifications to customers' locations. You will also review installation specifications.

Requirements

  • Entry-level or 1 year of technical experience
  • High School diploma or equivalent GED
  • Computer-literate
  • Trainable and coachable
  • Ability to learn customer specifications and standards
  • Excellent communication skills; speak clearly and persuasively in positive or negative situations; listen and get clarification; demonstrate group presentation skills
  • Ability to learn time management while working on customer sites
  • Dependability; follow instructions, respond to management's directions; keep commitments
  • Experience in handling power tools
  • Must be able to lift a minimum of 10 lbs
  • Must be willing and available to travel away from home for several weeks at a time (up to 75%)

Responsibilities

  • Determine floor plan layouts, power distribution, backup power supplies, and cabling of central office equipment
  • Identify and request parts necessary to establish low- and high-level racking, transmission racking, power racking, aisle lighting, and provision for grounding
  • Create comprehensive and accurate installation specifications and equipment requirements to fulfill customer orders
  • Create or correct location records, drawings, bill of materials (BOM), installation notes, and memos to reflect additions and modifications to customers' location (central office) because of installation or engineering activities
  • Review installation specifications
