About The Position
A1 Garage Door is seeking high-performing individuals to join their team as Installer Apprentices. This role is physically demanding and requires stamina and enthusiasm. The company provides comprehensive training, covering everything from installation techniques to customer service, enabling apprentices to thrive in their own markets. Previous experience in similar industries such as window and door installation, flooring, carpentry, kitchen installation, or furniture/fixture/bike assembly is a plus.
Requirements
- Must be 21 years old with a valid driver's license and 3+ years of driving record
- Able to bend, climb, kneel, and stand for long periods
- Physically able to lift 75lbs and lift garage door panels above head
- Able to stand on a ladder
- Basic knowledge of hand tools (Power drill, hammer, saw etc.)
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test (not including THC) and criminal background check
- Knowledge of basic software such as navigation apps, Google, and tablet/computer use
- Reading skills and basic math skills (measurements, payments) are required
- Professional & approachable appearance
- Current eligibility to legally work in the United States
Nice To Haves
- Experience in similar industries, performing installation or assembly (Windows & doors, flooring, carpentry, kitchen installation, furniture/fixtures/bike assembly etc.)
Responsibilities
- Install new garage doors for residential customers
- Remove existing door and mechanical parts
- Replace worn or broken door parts using tools
- Assemble mechanical parts
- Install springs, sections, slats, and hardware
- Run wiring to connect equipment
- Lubricate and test mechanical parts for proper functioning
- Educate customers on upgraded parts and services and ensure satisfaction
- Document activities related to installations
