About The Position

Don's Garage Doors, an affiliate of A1 Garage Door, is seeking high-performing individuals to join their team in Denver, Colorado, operating under the brand name Don's Garage. This is a physically demanding role that requires stamina and enthusiasm. While prior experience with garage doors is not necessary, the company provides comprehensive training on all aspects of the job, including customer service. The ideal candidate is eager to learn, organized, methodical, enjoys helping people, takes pride in their work, is described as handy, reliable, and trustworthy, moves quickly, is self-motivated, and enjoys working autonomously. Previous experience in similar industries such as installation or assembly (windows & doors, flooring, carpentry, kitchen installation, furniture/fixtures/bike assembly) is a strong plus. Candidates who prefer minimal customer interaction, dislike manual labor, are not weather-resistant, or are unwilling to follow training should not apply.

Requirements

  • Be nice
  • Able to bend, climb, kneel and stand for long periods
  • Physically able to lift 75lbs, lift garage door panels above head
  • Able to stand on ladder
  • Basic knowledge of hand tools (Power drill, hammer, saw etc.)
  • Valid driver’s license for at least 3 years with a clean driving record
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test (not including THC) and criminal background check
  • Knowledge of basic software such as navigation apps, Google etc. as well as tablet and computer use
  • GED or HS diploma not required, however reading skills as well as basic math skills (measurements, payments) are required
  • Professional & approachable appearance
  • Current eligibility to legally work in the United States

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in similar industries, performing installation or assembly (Windows & doors, flooring, carpentry, kitchen installation, furniture/fixtures/bike assembly etc.)

Responsibilities

  • Install new garage doors for residential customers
  • Remove existing door and mechanical parts
  • Replace worn or broken door parts using tools
  • Assemble mechanical parts
  • Install springs, sections, slats, and hardware
  • Run wiring to connect equipment
  • Lubricate and test mechanical parts for proper functioning
  • Educate customers on upgraded parts and services and ensure satisfaction
  • Document activities related to installations
