About The Position

Door Doctor, part of Sentinel Dock & Door Solutions, is looking for an Installer Apprentice /Welder to join our team in Lachine, Quebec. This position involves the installation of overhead doors, rolling steel, high‑speed doors, truck restraints, shelters, seals, and related equipment at customer sites. The successful candidate must be an experienced welder, as many installations require metal fabrication, reinforcing brackets, modifying steel components, and ensuring structural alignment.

Requirements

• Must be an experienced welder with the ability to modify, repair, or reinforce metal components as needed.
• Legally authorized to work in the Quebec construction industry; possesses a valid CCQ competency card
• Strong mechanical aptitude with proven ability to troubleshoot and repair mechanical and electrical components
• Proficient in the safe and effective use of tools, power equipment, and diagnostic instruments
• Solid understanding of industry standards, safety protocols, and preventive maintenance practices
• Excellent communication skills verbally, written, and interpersonal with the ability to work collaboratively and professionally with clients and team members
• Highly motivated self-starter with a positive attitude and ability to work independently or as part of a team
• Comfortable working at heights using ladders, scissor lifts, or similar equipment
• Physically capable of heavy lifting and demanding tasks
• Possess a valid driver’s license in good standing

Responsibilities

• Install overhead doors, rolling steel, high‑speed doors, dock levelers, truck restraints, shelters, seals, and related equipment at various customer locations.
• Perform welding tasks as needed to modify, reinforce, or repair metal components during installations.
• Complete all required documentation accurately and submit paperwork promptly.
• Maintain site cleanliness and remove debris generated during installation.
• Manage tools and equipment, performing daily inspections to ensure they are in good working order.
• Keep service vehicle clean and organized.
• Comply with all company health and safety policies and procedures.
• Other duties as assigned.
