About The Position

Kendrix is seeking a skilled Installation Technician to support our field operations team. This role is ideal for a technician who is comfortable working independently on installations, understands best practices in electronic security systems, and can support junior technicians onsite when required. While this is not a senior leadership position, the successful candidate will be trusted to manage assigned tasks with minimal supervision, troubleshoot technical challenges, and contribute to overall project quality, timelines, and safety.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of relevant experience in electronic security or low‑voltage installations
  • Fluent in English (verbal and written)
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical and system drawings
  • Strong understanding of electronic security devices and troubleshooting techniques
  • Experience using power tools including hammer drills, grinders, and cutting tools
  • Proficient with test equipment including: Multimeters, network testers and scanners
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel for basic data import/export
  • Ability to work efficiently and meet project deadlines
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
  • Comfortable working at heights

Responsibilities

  • Follow all company standards, procedures, and safety protocols
  • Independently install and support: CCTV systems, Intrusion alarm systems, Analogue and VoIP intercom systems, Structured cabling, EMT, PVC, and Wiremold conduit, Magnetic locks and electric strikes, Automatic door and gate controls
  • Perform system integration including: Intrusion systems integrated with access control, CCTV systems integrated with access control
  • Complete software installation, configuration, and system upgrades
  • Work safely from ladders, scissor lifts, and boom lifts
  • Attend job‑site meetings as required
  • Coordinate work with other trades on active construction sites
  • Perform networking‑related tasks including: LAN / WAN setup, DHCP, TCP/IP networking, Basic router configuration including port forwarding
  • Complete job-site documentation, including: Work orders, Test and commissioning reports, Deficiency and close‑out documentation
  • Maintain, clean, organized and professional job sites
  • Adhere strictly to health and safety requirements
  • Provide guidance and technical assistance to junior installation technicians
  • Support senior technicians and project managers on complex installations
  • Participate in scheduled on‑call support rotation as required
  • Communicate effectively with internal teams and clients to ensure scope and quality expectations are met
