Installation Technician
About The Position
This is a great opportunity for an Installation Technician who wants to build a strong career in security integration while helping customers create safer, smarter, and more connected buildings. Through hands-on work, field experience, and continued training, you will install, troubleshoot, and support systems that make a real impact. As an Installation Technician, you will work with project teams to support access control, video surveillance, fire alarm systems, and other integrated system projects. You will apply and continue developing technical skills, support customers, and contribute to successful projects for leading healthcare, education, and industrial organizations. We are looking for a detail-oriented, customer-focused Installation Technician for our Novi, MI location who enjoys hands-on work, solves problems, communicates well, and brings Knight Watch’s core values—Dedicated, Confident, Fun, Team Player, and Problem Solver—to every project.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent, with a commitment to continued learning and professional growth.
- Valid driver’s license and a safe, dependable driving record.
- Comfortable lifting up to 50 pounds as part of hands-on installation work.
- Comfortable climbing ladders and working in confined spaces when needed.
- Familiarity with power tools and electronics, with a commitment to strengthening technical skills.
- Comfort using Microsoft Office applications and mobile technology to stay organized and connected.
Responsibilities
- Install and support access control, video surveillance, fire alarm systems, and other integrated systems.
- Read blueprints and electrical drawings to support project work.
- Work with technicians and project teams to troubleshoot equipment and resolve issues.
- Maintain accurate documentation of materials, labor hours, and project activity.
- Provide professional customer service and explain system functions clearly when needed.
- Review project documentation and complete mobile task reporting.
- Communicate clearly with customers, technicians, project managers, and internal teams.
- Strengthen technical knowledge through training, certifications, and product research.
