Installation Technician - Septic Systems
About The Position
Wind River Environmental is looking for a skilled, safety-focused Installation Technician to join our team! If you have heavy equipment experience, and a knack for working independently while delivering top-notch service — we’d love to have you on board! Septic System installs, repairs and modifications. Applicant must have a valid drivers license. This is a non-CDL position. Track hoe experience preferred, but not necessary. This is a daytime shift – mostly Monday through Friday. The base pay range for this role is estimated to be $18.00 - $20.00 hourly at the time of posting. Final compensation will be determined by various factors such as work location, education, experience, knowledge, and skills.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 3+ years of heavy equipment operation experience (excavators, skid steers)
- Prior septic installation and repair experience required
- Ability to read and draw simple septic system diagrams
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions
- Basic computer literacy (email, internet)
- Must pass a DOT drug screen, physical exam, and road test
- Willingness to work weekends and on-call rotations during peak seasons
- Valid driver's license

Responsibilities
- Operate excavators and skid steers to dig trenches for septic tanks and drain lines
- Read and interpret blueprints and site plans to determine proper system layout
- Install septic tanks and piping systems according to local codes and permit requirements
- Work with inspectors, suppliers, and team members to complete projects correctly and efficiently
- Perform system inspections for real estate transactions and troubleshooting services
- Educate customers on system operation, maintenance, and available service options
- Maintain accurate paperwork and documentation for each job
- Work overtime, weekends, and participate in on-call rotations as needed
