About The Position

Unlimited Technologies is seeking a dedicated Installation Technician II to join their dynamic team. This full-time position offers the opportunity to work alongside experienced security technicians and grow skills in a supportive environment. The Installation Technician will plan and perform security system installations, corrective maintenance, troubleshooting, and demolition tasks. Security systems include access control systems, burglar alarm systems, IP cameras, and other electronic and physical security systems. The Technician will be responsible for managing all aspects of access control and IP camera products and systems installed at client sites. The Technician must be able to independently install, program, troubleshoot, and perform maintenance on electronic devices, power supplies, and all network components. They will need to communicate effectively with the Project Manager and present a knowledgeable and engaging image to customers. The Technician must be a self-starter who can make sound decisions that are in the best interest of the project, the customer, and Unlimited Technology. Further, the Technician must be able to learn UT’s device monitoring/management methodologies. They must have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, and be able to work closely with subcontractors and customers.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or state-recognized equivalent
  • Minimum 3-5 years of field installation experience in the security environment.
  • Knowledgeable of security equipment systems (i.e., intrusion detection, assessment, and access control).
  • Capable of installing and maintaining various alarms, access control, and assessment system devices.
  • Ability to work in confined spaces, climb ladders, stand for extended periods, work extended hours, and travel independently.
  • Experienced in the installation of door hardware such as strikes and magnetic locks.
  • Ability to obtain required state low-voltage/security licenses as required.
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) and the ability to work well and interact with other UT employees as well as UT customers.
  • Strong work ethic and teamwork; “can do” attitude and desire to provide best service. Strong interpersonal and communicative Skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure with minimal supervision; must be a self-starter and quick learner.

Nice To Haves

  • Certifications in Lenel/Software House access control preferred
  • Certifications in American Dynamics, Genetec, Exacq preferred

Responsibilities

  • Install Access Control and IP cameras systems according to engineered drawings.
  • Identify and resolve issues that would have a negative impact on job productivity.
  • Thoroughly complete all necessary paperwork relating to job tickets.
  • Maintain a safe, clean working environment always.
  • Communicate all activity to the job Project Manager or Field Supervisor in a timely manner.
  • Maintain the condition and cleanliness of any company provided vehicle.
  • Maintain a safe driving record and report any incidents or near misses to management immediately.
  • Attend any product or safety training that is required.
  • Read and understand drawings and equipment schematics.
  • Provide direction and leadership for system installations.
  • Install and program Alarm (Intrusion), Access Control, IP video systems.
  • Provide updates to project manager and customers.
  • Test, troubleshoot and perform necessary corrections to security system.
