About The Position

The Installation Supervisor oversees SecureVision's installation crews responsible for deploying telecommunications infrastructure for new customer properties, system upgrades, and network expansion projects throughout the Alabama and Florida Gulf Coast. Reporting to the Inside Plant Superintendent, this position manages daily installation activities, schedules personnel, ensures quality workmanship, and coordinates project execution from mobilization through completion. The Installation Supervisor works closely with the Inside Plant Superintendent, Field Engineer, Engineering Department, Construction teams, and Project Management to ensure installations are completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with SecureVision standards.

Requirements

  • Strong leadership and supervisory skills with the ability to motivate and develop installation personnel.
  • Thorough understanding of fiber optic systems, structured cabling, IPTV, internet, voice, wireless networking, and telecommunications infrastructure.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, floor plans, construction documents, and installation specifications.
  • Working knowledge of CAT5e, CAT6, coaxial, fiber optic, and low-voltage installation practices.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and time management skills.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple installation projects while maintaining quality and productivity.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and the ability to learn project management and documentation software.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of telecommunications installation, structured cabling, or construction experience required.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license with a satisfactory motor vehicle record.
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment background check and drug screen.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate degree or technical training in Telecommunications, Electronics, Construction Management, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of one (1) year of supervisory or crew leadership experience preferred.
  • Experience with fiber optic deployments, MDU installations, commercial telecommunications projects, and structured cabling preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Directly supervises Installation Technicians and installation crews.
  • Assigns daily work, monitors productivity, provides coaching, and conducts performance evaluations.
  • Ensures installation personnel receive ongoing technical and safety training.
  • Promotes compliance with company policies, quality standards, and safe work practices.
  • Plan, coordinate, and supervise daily installation activities for new construction projects, property upgrades, and network expansion initiatives.
  • Schedule installation crews, assign work, and monitor project progress to ensure projects are completed within established timelines.
  • Coordinate with the Inside Plant Superintendent regarding manpower, scheduling, project priorities, material requirements, and resource allocation.
  • Communicate project status, installation progress, and field challenges to the Inside Plant Superintendent and other project stakeholders.
  • Oversee the installation of fiber optic infrastructure, structured cabling, IPTV, internet, voice, wireless networking equipment, and customer premise equipment.
  • Supervise equipment racking, cable management, labeling, testing, and commissioning activities.
  • Assist installation crews with complex installations and technical challenges during active construction projects.
  • Ensure all installations comply with engineering drawings, manufacturer specifications, and SecureVision quality standards.
  • Support customer service activations during project completion but does not perform routine post-installation service calls.
  • Conduct quality inspections throughout each phase of installation.
  • Review and maintain installation documentation, project records, crew time reporting, and as-built documentation.
  • Verify testing, labeling, and equipment documentation are complete before project turnover.
  • Identify installation deficiencies and coordinate corrective actions to ensure quality standards are achieved.
  • Promote a safe work environment by ensuring compliance with company safety policies and applicable regulations.
  • Conduct job site safety observations and reinforce proper installation practices.
  • Ensure company vehicles, tools, and equipment are properly maintained and utilized.
  • Coordinate with the Field Engineer, Construction Coordinator, Engineering Department, warehouse personnel, and other internal teams to support successful project execution.
  • Assist with material planning, equipment staging, and resolving field issues that may impact project schedules.
  • Escalate project concerns, staffing needs, material shortages, or resource constraints to the Inside Plant Superintendent.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned by the Inside Plant Superintendent.
