Installation Mechanic - Colorado Springs, CO
About The Position
Holman is seeking an Installation Mechanic to join their upfitting division in Colorado Springs, CO. This role involves installing new aftermarket equipment on new vehicles, building vehicles according to work instructions and prints, and safely mounting and connecting mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical equipment. The mechanic will also test installed parts, verify work order completion, and communicate suggestions for process improvement. Holman designs, manufactures, and installs equipment for a wide variety of customers, trades, and industries, including solutions for service bodies, mechanic bodies, platform bodies, dump bodies, gooseneck bodies, light-duty trucks, and vans. They install equipment such as ladder racks, partitions, truck-mounted welders and generators, floor liners, shelving, cranes, and other electrical, mechanical, or hydraulic equipment.
Requirements
- 2-4 years of previous electrical, mechanical, and equipment assembly experience required
- Ability to use a variety of hand and power tools
- Ability to read electrical schematics
- Understanding of 12V circuits
- Ability to troubleshoot problems
- Must be able to provide basic hand and power tools
- Knowledge and skill of reading electrical wiring diagrams and hydraulic schematics
- Must have a valid driver's license
Nice To Haves
- Previous experience in Welding and Fabrication or Plumbing (in all areas)
- Previous experience with hydraulics and welding
Responsibilities
- Install new aftermarket equipment on new vehicles
- Build vehicles according to work instructions and prints
- Safely mount and connect mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical equipment
- Test installed parts prior to final inspection
- Verify all line items have been completed on the work order
- Inform and communicate suggestions and errors to relevant departments for continuous improvement of the installation process
