Requirements

  • Diploma in a related carpentry, electrical, mechanical, industrial field or the equivalent combination of education and related work experience.
  • Ability to work outside in various climate conditions.
  • Valid driver’s license with a good driving record.
  • Must be capable of meeting the following physical demands including, but not limited to: lifting or carrying weights form 50-75 lbs., sitting while driving for periods of up to several hours each day, standing on concrete for several hours each day, stooping, crouching, kneeling, crawling and twisting spine occasionally.
  • Ability to Frequently go up and down ladders.
  • Ability to work around the following conditions: moving vehicles, object, hazardous machinery, sharp tools cluttered floors, slippery floors, electrical hazards, poor lighting and wet conditions.
  • Must be able to read basic blueprints.
  • Ability to work independently and within teams.
  • Good oral and written communication skills.
  • Must be proficient in basic computer functions such as email and MS Word.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience in the automated door industry including swinging, sliding and revolving doors would be a definite asset.
  • Prior experience in the construction industry or electrical field.
  • Prior experience servicing automated doors, glazing, installing glass, installing door frames, building door frames, reading blueprints, AAADM Certification.

Responsibilities

  • Perform installation or service work as designated in profitable and proper manner.
  • Record productive time versus travel time.
  • Maintaining accurate work records, adequate parts inventory for service vehicle.
  • Keep inventory log.
  • Keeping manuals up to date, and maintain company vehicles, tools and other property in accordance with established procedures.
  • Presenting neat and clean appearance personally and in workmanship, in accordance with company policies.
  • Testing equipment before leaving job site and perform safety check.
  • Maintaining good customer relations and customer service.
  • Assisting others in install /service methods and other duties as may be.
  • Modeling, fostering and driving the Allegion values including Accountability, Respect, Integrity, Vision, Stretch, Boundaryless and Speed.
  • Other duties as assigned.
