About The Position
As an Install Apprentice at Clarks Heating & Cooling in Dickson, TN, you will play a vital role in supporting the installation of residential and light commercial heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to start a long-term career in the HVAC industry while learning from experienced professionals. As an apprentice, you'll work alongside skilled installers and gain hands-on experience in all aspects of the trade. You'll rotate through multiple departments—including the shop, rough-ins, and change-out crews—to develop a well-rounded understanding of HVAC installation. Your contributions will help ensure every installation is completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards while delivering exceptional service to our customers.
Requirements
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Reliable transportation to and from work.
- Ability to lift heavy equipment and materials safely.
- Ability to work in attics, crawl spaces, rooftops, and various weather conditions.
- Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and willingness to learn.
- Must be dependable and able to work well as part of a team.
- Strong work ethic and eagerness to learn.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Mechanical aptitude and ability to use hand and power tools.
- Ability to follow instructions and pay close attention to detail.

Nice To Haves
- Basic knowledge of HVAC systems or construction experience (preferred but not required).
- Experience using hand tools or working in a trade environment.
- OSHA safety training is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Assist lead installers with residential and light commercial HVAC installations for both retrofit and new construction projects.
- Help prepare and organize tools, equipment, and materials for daily installation jobs.
- Support shop operations by maintaining inventory, organizing materials, and preparing equipment.
- Rotate between the shop, rough-in crews, and change-out teams to gain hands-on experience in every aspect of HVAC installation.
- Assist with testing and inspecting newly installed HVAC systems to ensure proper operation.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures.
- Communicate professionally with team members and customers throughout the installation process.
- Continue learning HVAC installation techniques, tools, and best practices through on-the-job training.
