About The Position

The Inspector is responsible for inspecting product from raw material to final machined part and/or assembly. This role requires the ability to set up and use precision measuring equipment, perform product layout using surface plate and CMM, and utilize sine plates and trigonometry when necessary. The Inspector will also generate inspection reports, enter data into the Nonconforming material database, and create customer-required documentation and certifications. Additionally, this position may involve training and instructing other employees.

Requirements

  • Thorough understanding of GD&T is required.
  • Ability to read blue prints and specifications on a daily basis
  • Be able to give accurate information on hardware inspected
  • Capable of maintaining the flow of product for production in a timely manner
  • Must be able to pass a near vision and color eye exam.
  • Minimum five years of aerospace inspection experience performing Receiving Inspection, First Article Inspection I.A.W. AS9102, and Final Inspection.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience with Net-Inspect a plus
  • Experience operating a CMM preferred.
  • Programming a CMM a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Inspects product from raw material to final machined part and/or assembly.
  • Able to set up and use precision measuring equipment as needed, such as surface plate, sine plate, calipers, optical comparator, indicators, thread gages, dial bore gages, Muller gages, bridge gages, micrometers, etc.
  • Able to layout product using the surface plate and CMM
  • Uses the sine plate and trigonometry when necessary
  • Generates inspection reports as needed
  • Enters data in Nonconforming material in Database
  • Generates appropriate documentation and certifications as required by customers
  • Trains and instructs other employees as necessary
  • May perform other duties as requested
