About The Position

A leading university is seeking an Inspector to assess room conditions, document damages, and support facility readiness following student move-out. This role ensures spaces are properly prepared for incoming summer residents through detailed inspections, maintenance coordination, and reporting.

Requirements

• 1+ year of relevant experience, or a combination of education and experience.
• Experience conducting inspections, documenting findings, and coordinating maintenance or facility-related tasks.
• Proficiency with computer systems and software for reporting, documentation, and work order management.

Nice To Haves

• Valid CA Driver’s License is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct detailed room and facility inspections to assess condition, identify damages, safety concerns, missing items, and maintenance needs.
• Collaborate with custodial teams and Housing Building Managers to identify deficiencies, recommend corrective actions, and ensure spaces meet move-in readiness standards.
• Create and manage work orders for maintenance issues, track completion, and verify vendor work, cleaning, and repairs.
• Document findings, generate reports, and prepare preliminary damage billing assessments using photos, forms, and established guidelines.
• Support operational tasks including inventory counts, asset tracking, key accountability, facility checks (e.g., custodial closets), and special projects as assigned.
• Utilize software systems to publish reports, maintain records, and ensure adherence to safety protocols while professionally interfacing with colleagues, students, and external vendors in a dynamic environment.
