About The Position

We're seeking a skilled Quality Inspector - Nondestructive Testing (NDT) to help ensure our products meet the highest standards of quality and safety. In this role, you'll perform inspections, testing, troubleshooting, and quality evaluations throughout the manufacturing process while working closely with production, machining, and welding teams. If you have experience with NDT methods, welding inspections, precision measurement, and quality systems, we'd like to hear from you.

Requirements

  • Associate Degree in Nondestructive Testing or related field.
  • Minimum of two years of experience in Nondestructive Testing and Quality Inspection.
  • Current or ability to maintain: AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI), ASNT Certification, Ultrasonic Testing (UT) Levels I & II, Magnetic Particle Testing (MT) Levels I & II, Liquid Penetrant Testing (PT) Levels I & II
  • Ability to read and interpret: Engineering drawings, Blueprints, Welding symbols, Hydraulic schematics, Electrical schematics
  • Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills.
  • Excellent communication and documentation abilities.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple projects in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with SAP.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Working knowledge of hydraulic, electrical, diesel, and gas-powered systems.
  • Experience working in heavy equipment, structural steel, or industrial manufacturing.

Responsibilities

  • Perform incoming steel inspections using destructive and nondestructive testing methods.
  • Inspect fabricated components for dimensional accuracy and metallurgical compliance.
  • Conduct in-process inspections of weldments to ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and specifications.
  • Perform Ultrasonic Testing (UT), Magnetic Particle Testing (MT), and Liquid Penetrant Testing (PT) on critical welds.
  • Evaluate weld quality before machining to verify sufficient material and acceptable weld integrity.
  • Conduct destructive weld testing, including annual welder qualification testing.
  • Inspect machined weldments using precision measuring equipment.
  • Maintain company-wide calibration records and manage inspection equipment.
  • Set up and verify calibration of inspection tools used within the machine shop.
  • Assist in developing and improving NDT procedures in accordance with German DIN standards and American Welding Society (AWS) requirements.
  • Maintain inspection reports, testing documentation, and quality records.
  • Investigate quality concerns and recommend corrective actions.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and other quality-related projects.
