About The Position
This role involves ensuring the quality and condition of pipes through various inspection procedures. The Inspector is responsible for verifying that products meet all specified procedures and tolerances, accurately recording measurements, and identifying imperfections. The position also requires maintaining equipment, performing in-plant housekeeping, and assisting with different types of inspections while adhering to all safety and quality requirements.
Requirements
- Vocational education (high school, GED or other appropriate training; commercial or shop training; technical school).
- Lifting - Raising or lowering an object from one level to another (includes upward pulling).
- Carrying - Transporting an object, usually holding it in the hands or arms, or on the shoulder.
- Pushing - Exerting force upon an object so that the object moves away from the force.
- Pulling - Exerting force upon an object so that the object moves towards the force.
- Exerting - 50 to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 25 to 50 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
Responsibilities
- Assures that the condition of pipe (cleanliness, coating, etc.) OD and ID allows for proper inspection.
- Cleans and lubricates thread connections.
- Verifies that all procedures and tolerances of the product are met.
- Ensures pipe is properly measured, checked, and measurements are recorded properly.
- Performs specific inspections to written procedures.
- Assures all equipment used in performing inspections is calibrated before use.
- Marks pipe and evaluates imperfections.
- Performs in-plant housekeeping.
- Assists with various types of inspections.
- Sets up, calibrates, and maintains equipment.
- Follows all corporate and site-specific HSE, Quality requirements.
