About The Position

This role involves performing a variety of inspections on metal aerospace parts, including incoming, first piece setup, and final audit inspections. The Inspector will use precision measurement instruments, CMM equipment, and manual gauges, and will be responsible for maintaining records and ensuring parts meet specifications. The position requires the ability to read and interpret blueprints and drawings, and to detect and report any faulty operations or defective materials.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and perform a variety of incoming, first piece setup, and final audit inspections, keep records, check and test, following standard and recognized procedures.
  • Function as a CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machine) operator and/or bench inspector to audit in-process work to assure parts are in accordance with specifications.
  • Use a variety of gauges and precision measuring instruments.
  • Verify use of inspection equipment and check calibration to assure that expiration date of calibration has not been exceeded.
  • Use and interpret complex blueprints and specifications together with the ability to perform relevant calculations and layouts.
  • Detect and report faulty operations, defective materials and unusual matters to proper supervision.
  • Maintain equipment and work area in a clean and orderly condition.
  • Follow prescribed and standard safety regulations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervision.
