About The Position

The focus of this position is verification at all stages of new home construction from foundations to HERS, EPA's ENERGY STAR Programs. The Field Inspector is responsible for performing inspections at residential development sites. The primary customers for these services are large production home builders. Field Inspectors interface with job superintendents, sub-contractors, city inspectors and your Area Manager. Coordination and communication with these individuals regarding the status of job sites is critical and must be frequent, clear, and complete.

Requirements

High School Diploma or AA Degree
Two (2) years of construction experience and/or one (1) year of field experience supported with degree in related field of study.
Must have solid communication skills and be able to convey direction and leadership while enforcing Code and Energy Code to project Superintendents and their trades. Good attitude and personality are a must.
Basic Computer skills.
Several years of construction experience.
Can read building plans.
Candidates must be in good physical condition to carry up to 50/lbs. of equipment, climb ladders, and hoist themselves up into attic spaces.
Candidate must have a valid driver's license, have reliable transportation, vehicle insurance, and be prepared to drive a radius of up to 60 miles.
As an employee, the candidate must have good attendance as outlined in the employee handbook.

Nice To Haves

ICC Residential Certifications preferred or obtained within 1 year of hire.
HERS- Rater Certification preferred or obtained within 3 months of hire.
ENERGY STAR for Homes preferred.
Photovoltaic Inspector Certification preferred.
OSHA 10-Hour Training Course Certification preferred.
HVAC installation or technical experience preferred.
Experience in green building programs such as LEED, Build-it-Green, Energy Star would be preferable.

Responsibilities

Performing field inspections and HERS compliance testing for new construction builders.
Travel daily to multiple job sites.
Completing daily inspection reports of inspections
Communicate inefficiencies to job superintendents and educate them and their trades on correction items.
