About The Position

Segers Aero Corporation is seeking an Inspector to work 2nd shift. This position is responsible for completing detailed inspections of gas turbine engine and propeller components and assemblies in accordance with approved technical data and company policies. The role is safety-sensitive and subject to drug and alcohol testing per FAA regulations.

Requirements

  • Must be knowledgeable in the use of precision measuring instruments including calipers, micrometers, hard gages, dial bores gages, height gages, and other surface plate equipment.
  • Must be familiar with the engine components, inspection techniques, and tools used to complete the inspection process.
  • Must be able to maintain an effective working relationship with and among co-workers and supervisors.
  • Must be able to work with little or no supervision and take initiative.
  • Must be able to use applied knowledge to formulate positive solutions to problem situations.
  • Must be able to apply common sense.
  • Must be able to effectively read, write, and communicate in English.
  • Must be proficient in ERP or production software, Microsoft Office, Word and Excel.
  • Must be able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide using fractions and decimals; compute percentages, ratios, rates and interpret graphs.
  • Must be able to comply with OSHA requirements and standards to properly wear all applicable PPE.
  • Must be able to see within 20/20 vision with or without corrective lenses.
  • Must be able to hear running machinery.
  • Must be able to use hands, wrists, and fingers repetitively.
  • Must have exceptional eye-hand coordination.
  • Must be able to walk around regularly using steps occasionally.
  • Ability to provide verifications of US citizenship or permanent residency to satisfy ITAR/EAR restrictions.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. regularly and more, with assistance occasionally.
  • Must regularly be able to reach overhead.
  • Must regularly be able to squat, bend, twist, stoop, kneel, and stand.
  • Must be able to walk around regularly using steps occasionally.
  • At least 18 years of age or older.
  • A High School Diploma or GED is required.
  • At least one (1) year of relevant aviation inspection experience is required.
  • FAA Power Plant license or strong working knowledge in specialty field.
  • Must pass a criminal background check.
  • Must pass a DOT FAA pre-employment drug screen and comply with all FAA regulations.
  • Jaeger and Ishihara eye exam are required upon hire.

  • three (3) years’ experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Completes daily inspection assignments as directed by the Supervisor.
  • Examines material or product for surface defects such as cracks, pits, and incomplete welds.
  • Uses precision measuring instruments to complete inspections in accordance with approved technical data.
  • Compares product with parts list or sample model to ensure completion of assembly.
  • Rejects defective parts, and marks type of defect on part, container of parts, or inspection tag.
  • Utilizes the electronic database to complete transactions.
  • Completes paperwork required for quality system.
  • Assists with job training of other inspection personnel in the completion of inspection responsibilities.
  • Keeps a clean work environment using continuous improvement tools.
  • Maintains an understanding of the methodology employed by bureaucratic and government organizations, and skills, to deal with the requirements and systems imposed by these organizations.
  • Maintains accurate and timely records of inspections.
  • Ability to demonstrate inspection proficiency on equipment, inspection methods & techniques, aids, and tools.
  • Confers with Supervisor to recommend changes such as: equipment utilization, production methods, and procedures to increase efficiency of department and promote improvement.
  • Attends all safety and health training, as required, in a timely manner.
  • Works when scheduled and complies with company attendance policy.
  • Observes and practices all safety procedures and personal policies (e.g. safety-glasses, ear plugs, face shields etc.).
  • Works overtime as needed.
  • Other duties as required.
