About The Position

Using state-of-the-art technology, Acromil, LLC in City of Industry, CA has been a primary supplier to the Commercial and Defense Aerospace Industries of complex structural components and assemblies since 1959. Acromil pursues its vision of excellence by providing the highest quality products, on time and at competitive prices within a culture of integrity and pride.  This vision led us to the acquisition of a similar business operation located in Corona, CA in September 2018 for a total footprint of 200,000 square feet. Acromil’s increased capacity will further our goal of being a World Class Supplier. The selected individual will be responsible for inspecting customer products to ensure products are manufactured within conformance of customer specifications; inspection includes, but is not limited to checking dimensions, tolerances, functionality, configuration, aesthetics, surface finish, or plating, and material per customer specifications and/or blueprints. Responsibility includes inspection of, raw material, first articles, in process, source inspection, purchased, or modified products and complex assemblies. Sort and stack usable parts for shipping, document and contain defective parts for rework, customer submittal and necessary dispositioning.

Requirements

  • Experience with ANSI Y14.5 Geometric Tolerance.
  • Understanding of aerospace drawings, specifications, processing, and quality requirements.
  • Basic understanding of calibration requirements.
  • Basic understanding of statistical process control.
  • Experience with Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Familiar with CMM operations (ability to run programs)
  • Experience of AS9102 forms and related requirements.
  • Person must be a United States (US) Person as defined by ITAR Regulations – A United States (US) Person is a citizen of the United States, a lawful permanent resident alien of the US, (a "Green Card" holder), a refugee or someone in the USA as a protected political asylee or under amnesty.
  • High School diploma or GED; some college or technical training preferred.
  • A minimum of three (3) years quality assurance mechanical inspection experience required, or a combination of education and/or experience.
  • Must have experience using calipers, micrometers, height gauge, comparator, and knowledge of GD&T and blueprints.
  • Ability to read, interpret and adhere to written documents such as quality manual, inspection procedures, operating and maintenance instructions, blueprints, schematics and work instructions; the ability to write routine reports and correspondence and document inspections accurately.
  • Must listen well to verbal instructions and seek clarification when necessary and respond concisely to inquiries from management or co-workers.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Requires ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Needs ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Ability to investigate all steps and processes pertaining to product issues by analyzing applicable engineering design, specification and conformance requirements.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of CMM, Romer and or Laser Tracker, Bill of Materials and MRP systems desired.

Responsibilities

  • Perform complex mechanical dimensional and visual inspection of products or complex assemblies including first article, in-process and final inspections per blueprints and/or other written specifications using designated and appropriate measuring devices, such as micrometers, calipers, digital (dial) indicators, optical comparator, ring, pin or thread gages.
  • Verify controls for precision tools and inspection equipment to regulate proper inspection of product and ensure calibration requirements are accurate and current.
  • Document part numbers, lot numbers, serial numbers, quantities, inspection dates, results on manufacturing plans, AS9102 forms and all other associated documentation to ensure accurate product quality history records for each inspection task performed.
  • Inspect product within the estimated time requirements.
  • Assist Quality Control Management during investigations and/or deviations review.
  • Support the requirements of the AS9100 Quality Management Systems.
  • Report and communicate all non-conforming product(s) in accordance with established procedures.
  • Monitor work order to ensure inspection and manufacturing operations are completed as required.
  • Responsible for communicating and informing manufacturing and other related departments of any out of tolerance condition or acceptability of product based on specification.
  • Perform general quality inspection tasks and other work-related duties as required or assigned by Quality Control Management.
  • Strong communication skills are required to ensure suppliers understand requirements and expectations; make trip reports and present findings.
