About The Position

The Inspection Technician executes protocol-directed and assignment-specific inspection work for validation activities, engineering studies, special production inspections, and other defined technical inspection needs. The role prepares inspection equipment and samples, performs measurements exactly as specified in approved protocols or written inspection plans, records attributable raw data, assembles inspection evidence, and promptly escalates deviations or unexpected results to the responsible Quality Engineer.

Requirements

  • Minimum: One year of manufacturing, laboratory, metrology, inspection, validation-support, or technical testing experience.
  • Reading and following controlled protocols, inspection plans, drawings, specifications, and test methods.
  • Use of dimensional and functional inspection equipment appropriate to assigned work.
  • Good documentation practices and accurate raw-data recording.
  • Sample identification, traceability, segregation, and status control.
  • Awareness of calibration status and equipment-use requirements.
  • Attention to detail, organization, and ability to manage multiple assigned inspection packets.
  • Clear communication and timely escalation of unexpected conditions.
  • Basic computer skills for data entry, controlled records, and instrument output handling.

Nice To Haves

  • Associates degree in related field, or equivalent experience preferred
  • Experience executing controlled test methods or protocols; using dimensional or functional inspection equipment; and documenting raw data in a regulated manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

  • Execute dimensional, visual, functional, and attribute inspections required by approved validation protocols, engineering study plans, special-inspection instructions, or other written technical assignments.
  • Review the assigned protocol or inspection plan before execution and confirm that inspection characteristics, sample quantities, acceptance criteria, required forms, and data-recording expectations are clear.
  • Prepare, identify, stage, and maintain traceability of samples assigned for validation, engineering-study, or special-inspection work.
  • Confirm that required inspection equipment, gages, fixtures, software, and reference standards are available, suitable for use, and within current calibration or verification status before testing begins.
  • Set up and operate approved measurement and inspection equipment in accordance with current work instructions, methods, and protocol requirements.
  • Record raw inspection data contemporaneously and accurately in the approved protocol form, data sheet, or controlled electronic record without interpreting or changing acceptance criteria.
  • Perform independent verification, repeat measurement, or second-operator checks when specifically required by the approved protocol or inspection plan.
  • Identify and immediately escalate protocol deviations, equipment issues, sample-traceability concerns, unexpected results, or out-of-acceptance observations to the responsible Quality Engineer; do not independently determine disposition or root cause.
  • Compile completed data sheets, instrument outputs, sample-identification records, photographs when required, and other objective evidence into a complete inspection packet for technical review.
  • Maintain inspection-area readiness, including organized tooling, controlled forms, sample segregation, and status identification for work in progress and completed assignments.
  • Coordinate the timing and sequence of assigned validation and special -inspection work with the responsible Quality Engineer and production contact so required evidence is available to support the approved study schedule.
  • Support inspection-method qualification, measurement-system studies, correlation checks, or capability-data collection only when directed by a Quality Engineer and governed by an approved plan.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
