About The Position
The Neil Jones Food Company is seeking a seasonal Inspector Sorter to work on the production line, sorting and inspecting fruit at their Northwest Packing plant in Vancouver, WA. This role is crucial for the fresh pack season, which typically runs from August to November. The company is an industry leader in processing high-quality tomatoes and fruit, with a history spanning over 50 years and multiple production facilities.
Requirements
- 1+ year of experience in a manufacturing or industrial facility; food industry experience preferred.
- Ability to determine a quality can by observing dents and defects.
- Ability to communicate effectively with peers or management.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test and work extended schedule, weekends, and any shift assigned during the fresh pack season, typically August to November.
Nice To Haves
- High School Diploma or GED preferred; not required.
Responsibilities
- Always Promotes Food Safety Culture as a priority in all situations through conversations, communications, and actions
- Stand at workstation for up to 7.5 hours per day.
- Observes the flow of the fruit on conveyors; removes any fruit that does not meet the minimum requirements of quality fruit.
- Requires the use of proper personal protective equipment such as waterproof shoes or boots, waterproof or chemical resistant gear (pants/jacket), safety glasses or goggles, face shield, gloves.
