About The Position

Venture Global LNG (“Venture Global”) is a long-term, low-cost provider of American-produced liquefied natural gas. The company’s Louisiana-based export projects service the global demand for North American natural gas and support the long-term development of clean and reliable North American energy supplies. Using reliable, proven technology in an innovative plant design configuration, Venture Global’s modular, mid-scale plant design will replace traditional designs as it allows for the same efficiency and operational reliability at significantly lower capital cost.

Requirements

  • A high school diploma or equivalent is the minimum requirement.
  • Several years of experience in construction, welding, or a related field are typically required.
  • Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) from the American Welding Society (AWS).
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication.
  • The ability to read and interpret complex plans and blueprints.
  • Proficiency with computers and inspection software.
  • Mechanical aptitude and knowledge of testing equipment.

Nice To Haves

  • An associate or bachelor's degree often preferred for advanced positions.

Responsibilities

  • Perform visual and technical inspections of new or existing pipelines and related facilities, such as tanks and pump stations.
  • Observe and verify all construction phases, including excavations, trenching, grading, and pipe installation.
  • Inspect pipes and other materials to ensure they meet quality and design specifications.
  • Verify material test reports (MTRs).
  • Check pipe dimensions, such as diameter and wall thickness.
  • Inspect protective pipe coatings for defects and proper application.
  • Monitor welding crews and inspect completed welds for quality and integrity.
  • Ensure welders are certified and following approved procedures.
  • Witness and monitor non-destructive testing (NDT) methods.
  • Interpret and verify that construction is executed according to plans, specifications, contracts, and blueprints.
  • Conduct or witness field tests, such as pressure testing, flushing, and disinfectant sampling for water and sewer lines.
  • Create clear, concise, and accurate daily reports, logs, and correspondence.
  • Document project progress, non-conformities, and corrective actions.
  • Ensure all work is compliant with federal, state, and local regulations and safety guidelines.
  • Make decisions to meet field conditions and resolve conflicts with contractors to ensure compliance.
  • Communicate and maintain professional relationships with contractors, engineers, and client representatives.
