About The Position

This role is responsible for packing products into containers and cartons, sealing and labeling packages, and preparing products for shipping or storage. The inspector packer will also inspect products, materials, and containers to ensure they meet company quality standards, and identify and report any defects or issues. Additionally, the role involves operating or assisting with machinery such as conveyors, and monitoring equipment. Documentation and record-keeping are also part of the responsibilities. The ideal candidate will maintain a clean and organized workspace, work efficiently to meet production goals, follow instructions and procedures, and be reliable and consistent. Communication of issues to supervisors is essential, and other duties may be assigned. A strong emphasis is placed on following workplace safety rules, wearing appropriate PPE, reporting hazards, and working safely around machinery. Food safety and quality are also key responsibilities.

Requirements

• High school / Grade 10 level education
• 0–1 year experience in manufacturing/packaging
• Reading and understanding simple instructions
• Basic writing/communication
• Simple math (add, subtract, count, measure)
• Follow instructions and procedures
• Use common sense in routine situations
• Pay attention to detail
• Standing for long periods
• Using hands for repetitive tasks
• Light to moderate weight (up to ~50 lbs.)
• Walking, reaching, handling objects
• Close vision required
