About The Position

Assures by visual inspection that all containers and lids are being manufactured and packaged according to Amcor quality standards and guidelines in a safe and efficient manner. This role involves inspecting products to ensure quality, setting aside products that are below quality standards, and working closely with Leads to alert Mold Tech and Supervisor of any quality issues or reject conditions. The position also requires watching molds for irregularities or sticking, with timely response to quality issues being key. Additionally, the role involves completing assembly of products by installing gaskets in lids and handles in containers as required, flaming containers and lids when required, and stacking and packing product per instructions that vary with different customers and orders. Preparing proper product identification and/or packaging labels, accurately completing required paperwork, and assisting with material handling and other tasks as needed are also part of the responsibilities. Maintaining a safe, clean, and organized work area is essential.

Requirements

  • Must be able to keep up with the fast-paced production cycles.
  • Position requires agility and consistent attention to detail.
  • Able to tolerate constant repetition.
  • Must be able to identify alpha / numeric product codes.
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule including weekends, holidays, and overtime.
  • Standing and Walking: Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods (up to 12 hours per shift) on concrete floors in a production environment.
  • Lifting and Carrying: Regularly required to lift and carry materials, and packaging supplies weighing up to 40 lbs.
  • Bending, Stooping, and Kneeling: Frequent bending, stooping, and kneeling to set up printing equipment, load materials, and perform maintenance tasks.
  • Climbing and Reaching: Occasional climbing of steps or ladders and reaching overhead or below waist level to access printing supplies and equipment.
  • Manual Dexterity: Must have fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination to operate printing machinery, adjust settings, and manage small components with precision.
  • Visual and Auditory Acuity: Ability to read labels, print specifications, and computer screens. Must be able to hear equipment alerts and verbal instructions in a moderately noisy environment.
  • Mobility and Coordination: Must be able to safely navigate printing equipment, production areas, and storage zones with good balance and coordination.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous production experience is preferred.
  • Ability to read, write and communicate in English would be a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with material handling and other tasks as needed.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work area.
  • When the machine experiences interruption in production, the packer/handler will take this available time to clean up oil, sweep, mop, make boxes or other tasks that may be assigned by the team leader or supervisor.
