About The Position

This role is responsible for packing products into containers and cartons, sealing and labeling packages, and preparing products for shipping or storage. The Inspector Packer will also inspect products, materials, and containers to ensure they meet company quality standards, and identify and report any defects or issues. Additionally, the role involves operating or assisting with machinery such as conveyors, starting, stopping, and monitoring equipment, and performing documentation and record-keeping tasks. Maintaining a clean and organized workspace, working efficiently to meet production goals, and following instructions and procedures are key aspects of this position. Reliability, consistency, and communication of issues to supervisors are also expected. This position is on the 2nd Shift, from 4:00 PM to 12:30 AM. The role also emphasizes adherence to workplace safety rules, wearing appropriate PPE, reporting hazards, and working safely around machinery, with a specific focus on food safety and quality.

Requirements

  • High school / Grade 10 level education
  • 0–1 year of experience in manufacturing/packaging
  • Reading and understanding simple instructions
  • Basic writing/communication
  • Simple math (add, subtract, count, measure)
  • Follow instructions and procedures
  • Use common sense in routine situations
  • Pay attention to detail
  • Standing for long periods
  • Using hands for repetitive tasks
  • Light to moderate weight (up to ~50 lbs.)
  • Walking, reaching, handling objects
  • Close vision required
