About The Position

Boeing Defense is seeking an Inspector – Operational Support located in Ridley Park, PA. This role involves inspecting all aircraft parts, assemblies, and rotor blades for conformance to drawings, specifications, fixtures, and templates throughout various stages of fabrication, assembly, repair, static balance, painting, stenciling, and packaging. The inspector will also verify the quality and compliance of repaired and salvaged units according to the Standard Repairs Manual and Material Review Board (MRB) decisions. Responsibilities include performing Process Surveillance and monitoring composite, bonding, and sealant processes to ensure compliance with application processes, freedom from voids, and proper cure temperatures and pressures. Approved parts will be stamped, and non-conforming items will be documented for rejection or rework. The role may require performing inspection duties at subsidiary plants, vendor, or subcontractor facilities, and advising on acceptable inspection methods and interpretation of Company standards. All work must be performed in accordance with prints, specifications, and oral instructions, adhering to Company standards for safety, workmanship, and housekeeping. Instruction may be provided to assisting employees. This position is expected to be 100% onsite.

Requirements

  • Must be a Current UAW 1069 member
  • Ability to read, write, and follow verbal or written instructions in blueprints
  • This position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. “US Person” includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

Nice To Haves

  • 3 + years of calibration, certification, transmission-rotor inspection, or tooling inspection experience.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect all aircraft parts, assemblies and rotor blades for conformance to drawings, specifications, fixtures and templates.
  • Inspect aircraft parts, assemblies, mechanical sub-assemblies and rotor blades, in all phases of fabrication, assembly, repair, static balance, painting, stenciling and packaging.
  • Inspect repaired and salvaged units for quality and compliance to Standard Repairs Manual and Material Review Board (MRB) decisions.
  • Perform Process Surveillance and process monitoring duties.
  • Monitor composite, bonding, and sealant processes for compliance to application processes, freedom from voids, and proper cure temperatures and pressures.
  • Stamp or otherwise approve acceptable parts, sub-assemblies, assemblies and prepare appropriate paperwork and for non-conforming order rejection or rework and prepare necessary documentation.
  • May be required to perform inspection duties at subsidiary plants, vendor, or subcontractor plants.
  • May advise on acceptable methods of inspection and the interpretation of Company standards.
  • Perform all work in accordance with prints, specifications, other specified documents or oral instructions and in conformance with Company standards of safety, workmanship, and good housekeeping.
  • May provide instruction to employees designated to assist with the above duties.
