About The Position

Responsible for performing various Magnetic Particle Methods on component parts of various engines including GG3, GG4, GG8, PT8 and FT4 components in accordance with WGPW established methods and standard practices.

Requirements

Provide MPI Level 2 certificate from an accredited testing facility with a passing grade of 80% or greater.
Ability to read and interpret documents in the English language such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
Ability to calculate figures such as ratios and percentages for the mixing of the various concentrations of emulsifiers.
Ability to accurately use manufacturer’s technical manuals, the Pratt and Whitney Standard Practices Manual, service bulletins, illustrated parts catalogs, and WGP&W documentation.
Must be able to effectively and safely use manufacturer’s special tooling and lift and turn equipment.
High School diploma or equivalent plus additional specialized training as an MPI level 2 as pertaining to ASNT-SNT-TC-1A or MIL-STD-410E and a minimum of 400 documented hours of Training.
MPI Level II certification is required.
Must have good eye site and be capable of obtaining a Jaeger 1 rating with natural or corrected eye site.
Demonstrate the ability to differentiate between colors.

Responsibilities

Perform various Magnetic Particle Methods on component parts of various engines including GG3, GG4, GG8, PT8 and FT4 components.
Use and understand Mpi Spops as they relate to aviation or Aero derivative engines.
Set up and calibrate equipment to conduct tests.
Interpret, evaluate, and document results in accordance with approved procedures.
Follow and comply with the SPOP description pertaining to the particular part being worked.
Obtain corrected lenses if needed.
Follow all of WGPW EH&S Standards, including PPE.
Report all labor accurately on your daily time sheet.
Follow the personnel guidelines set forth in the Employee Handbook.
Deal with parts received in the department on a first-in first-out basis unless directed otherwise.
