About The Position

Microchip Technology Inc. is seeking an Inspector III to join their team. This role involves inspecting products using industry-appropriate methods, comparing them to standards, measuring dimensions, and examining functionality. The inspector will ensure that the assembly or production line adheres to standards and procedures, review blueprints and specifications, and record inspection results. This position requires maintaining measurement equipment, using tools like calipers and micrometers, collecting statistical quality data, and assisting in the development of test methods and inspection plans. Requirements

  • US Person (ITAR).
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 4+ years of inspection experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to understand technical processes and follow detailed instructions.
  • Basic computer, math and reading comprehension skills.
  • Good hand-eye coordination and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Prior success working both individually and in a team environment.
  • Adaptability to frequent change and improvements.
  • Ability to wear the required personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Candidates are required to provide proof of either US citizenship, Permanent US residency or classification as a protected individual as defined in 8 USC 1324b (a) (3).

Responsibilities

  • Inspecting using industry-appropriate methods, such as design data, comparing to standards, measuring dimensions and examining functionality.
  • Checking that the assembly or production line adheres to standards and procedures and complying with set requirements.
  • Reviewing blueprints and specifications to compare to produced goods.
  • Recording inspection results by completing reports, summarizing re-works and wastes and inputting data into quality database.
  • Keeping measurement equipment operating accurately by following calibration requirements and calling for repairs.
  • Using tools and gauges such as calipers and micrometers to measure products.
  • Collecting and compiling statistical quality data.
  • Assisting in the development of test methods and inspection plan.
