This includes Manufacturing and Supply Chain support across all Blue Origin facilities. Requirements

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in dimensional inspection of aerospace components.
  • Laser Tracker Experience
  • Blueprint reading skills including GD&T per ASME Y14.5-2009 standard.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Fluent in the use of precision hand tools, gages, optical comparator, and surface plate work.
  • Experience inspecting tight tolerance, high value components.
  • Ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities, schedules, and operational demands in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Microsoft Office Proficiency.
  • Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and strengthen our culture of inclusion
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

Nice To Haves

  • CAD and MBD system knowledge, preferably Creo
  • PC DMIS Software knowledge
  • Leica and Spatial Analyzer knowledge.
  • CMM Experience
  • Taylor Hobson experience
  • Atos GOM and Zeiss Inspect software knowledge
  • Blue light experience
  • Basic machining knowledge.
  • Experience operating heavy lifting equipment such as cranes and forklifts around flight critical hardware.
  • Outside processing knowledge (heat treatment, plating, coating, EDM, grinding, etc.)

Responsibilities

  • Programing, setup, operating, and assisting multiple technologies such as Taylor Hobson; Blue light; CMM; laser tracker; Romer arm; manual layout mechanical inspection using Blueprints to inspect machined and received components.
  • Perform first article, in-process, final, and receiving inspections.
  • Provide feedback to machinists and engineers with dimensional data.
  • Document, track and complete discrepancy reports.
  • Provide inspection time estimates.
  • Maintain and track inspection equipment calibrations.
  • Support process improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain configuration control on files and job records and safely work within an industrial environment.
  • Share in the team’s impact on all aspects of developing, testing and launching Space systems to support Blue Origin’s Vision.
