Position summary: Applies standard inspection procedures to ongoing activities during and after construction for structural quality, general safety and conformance to plans, specifications and codes. Immigration sponsorship or support (e.g. H1B, F-1 CPT/OPT/STEM OPT) is not available for this position, except for qualified candidates eligible for the TN visa classification. Compensation for this position is $30.00 - $40.00 per hour, commensurate with experience, education and certifications. The provided range is a good faith estimate based on the requirements described within the job description. Responsibilities
- Review and interpret plans, site layouts, specifications and construction methods to ensure compliance to legal requirements and safety regulations.
- Review routine tests performed by contractor on concrete, soils, water pressure, and other items for accuracy and completeness.
- Measure dimensions and verify level, alignment, and elevation of structures, fixtures, grades, and/or pavement to ensure compliance to plans, specifications, and applicable codes.
- Verify construction material deliveries for compliance with contract submittals, specs, and drawings.
- Produce and maintains record documents during course of construction.
- Makes field notes and computations during course of construction.
- Develops and delivers accurate and detailed daily field reports for review by the project manager for submission to the client.
- Photo document construction progress.
- Review surveying stakeout and cut sheets throughout construction.
- Review contractor pay applications for work-percent complete and general accuracy.
- Perform other related duties as assigned
