WSP is seeking an Inspector II (Night Shift) for their Columbia, MD office, to work for their client in New Carrollton, MD. This role involves being part of the Construction Management Team and contributing to projects that meet client objectives and solve challenges. The position requires providing daily site inspections to ensure compliance with approved plans, specifications, and codes, primarily during the night shift. Responsibilities include performing inspections on and adjacent to Class I railroad right-of-way, monitoring and inspecting horizontal and vertical construction activities, and communicating effectively in English. The inspector will review construction quantities, perform quality assurance on installed materials, and inspect/test materials according to the client's scope of services. This role acts as the Owner's agent in the construction process, reviews work progression against the schedule, and interprets contractor submittals, RFIs, change order requests, and as-built drawings. The inspector will communicate field conditions and conflicts to the Resident Engineer, interface with clients and contractors, and maintain detailed records of contractor performance. Additionally, the role involves overseeing the technical submittal, shop drawing review, and RFI process, preparing daily inspector reports, assisting with monthly reports, and developing/tracking punch list items. The position requires responsible and ethical decision-making and adherence to WSP's Code of Conduct.
