About The Position

Caterpillar Remanufacturing is seeking an Inspector I to support the Reman Drivetrain team in West Fargo, ND. This role involves performing inspections of materials and verifying process results to ensure they meet specifications, requirements, and guidelines. Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Two-year tech school degree or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Minimum one year experience in quality, inspection or machining preferred.
  • Must possess ability to learn new tasks.
  • Able to read/write and interpret standard work instructions.

Responsibilities

  • Perform inspections of materials and verify process results to ensure conformance to specifications, requirements, and guidelines.
  • Use precision measuring devices to effectively inspect parts.
  • Operate machinery such as hand tools, air tools, and torque wrenches.
  • Apply and correctly interpret reusability guidelines and determine disposition of materials.
  • Operate pallet jacks and other moving equipment.
  • Assist in identifying issues and initiating corrective action processes.
  • Participate in the CI/PID Process.
  • Actively listen and follow directions provided.
  • Understand labeling and flow of work in progress.
  • Understand and follow SWI’s and daily Production Schedules.
  • Adhere to facility policies, including attendance and company values.
  • Perform assigned duties to promote cross-training or support for various areas of the shop.
  • Promote a culture based on Caterpillar's Values in Action.
  • Follow established facility safety policies, safe job procedures, and hazardous risk assessments, using proper Personal Protective Equipment.
  • Work with a variety of employees to effectively communicate needs and perform job-related tasks.
  • Serve as a positive role model and contribute to team effort by supporting all employees.
  • Ensure customer requirements are met.
  • Conduct business with the highest level of honesty and integrity.
  • Interface with plant management, supervisors, and production personnel.

  • Hourly Pay Range: $20.53 - $26.13
  • 1st shift
  • Work Hours: 6:00AM- 4:30PM Monday - Thursday with occasional overtime on Fridays
  • 40-hour work weeks with potential for overtime
