JMT is currently ranked #45 on Engineering News-Record’s list of the Top 500 Design Firms. JMT is seeking an Inspector I to join our Texas Construction Management division. The Inspector I will be responsible for conducting on-site inspections of work in progress and performing assignments while assisting the Senior Inspector and other Inspectors in the performance of their duties. The successful candidate will receive general supervision from the Senior Inspector who reviews work while in progress. Immigration sponsorship or support (e.g. H1B, F-1 CPT/OPT/STEM OPT) is not available for this position, except for qualified candidates eligible for the TN visa classification.

Requirements

  • Ability to review and interpret plans, site layouts, specifications, and construction methods.
  • Ability to perform routine tests on concrete, soils, and other materials.
  • Ability to measure dimensions and verify the level, alignment, and elevation of structures, fixtures, grades, and/or pavement.
  • Ability to gather and maintain record documents.
  • Ability to make field notes and computations.

Responsibilities

  • Measure dimensions and verify the level, alignment, and elevation of structures, fixtures, grades, and/or pavement to ensure compliance with plans, specifications, and applicable codes.
  • Gather and maintain record documents.
  • Make field notes and computations.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
