About The Position

Uses and interprets drawings, inspection manuals, specifications, shop mathematics, and precision measuring instruments to accomplish inspection assignments. Uses specialized inspection machines, tools, and equipment to inspect aircraft airframe assemblies and components. Applies working knowledge of Quality Management System Policies and Procedures for inspection and quality assurance. Prepares and maintains Quality records for inspection results and conformance documentation. Verifies that tools and equipment are qualified for use in inspection processes. Follows inspection procedures to accept or reject processes, parts, and assemblies based on specifications. Inspects assemblies for solid rivets, blind fasteners, hex-drive bolts, lockbolts, bolts, nuts, and fasteners on composites. Performs sealing inspection for assembly and post-assembly sealing operations. Performs electrical bond and ground inspection using various meters and final inspection for electrical bonds. Uses precision measuring tools and performs skin quality inspection for airframe components.

Requirements

  • Must be a U.S. Person (as defined by ITAR).
  • 5 years of experience in aerospace airframe assembly inspection.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and engineering drawings for inspection.
  • Experience with MS Office and SAP for documentation and reporting.
  • Experience writing Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs or Tags) in MES or equivalent systems.
  • Ability to obtain all required training certifications and maintain them while on assignment.
  • Ability to obtain an inspector stamp within specified days after training completion.
  • Ability to work periods of heavy overtime as required.
  • Knowledge of Company Policies, Procedures, and Specifications for production processes.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Spirit AeroSystems or Boeing and 737 airframe or fuselage inspection.
