About The Position

The Inspector Enhanced QA/QC Gas Engineering role is responsible for performing random independent audits of construction and maintenance activities to ensure safety, quality, and productivity. This position ensures alignment with operating procedures, materials, policies, and procedures to prevent future gas safety and quality compliance issues. The role involves interfacing with the construction workforce, the public, and regulatory agencies, as well as preparing and communicating reports and participating in team meetings to review findings and corrective actions.

Requirements

Minimum 5 years of gas distribution & operations experience
Demonstrated understanding of utility operations and regulatory requirements
Knowledge of Engineering, Construction and Maintenance standards in accordance with regulatory requirements
Work independently on assigned activities
Participate in implementation of corrective actions
Participate in monthly meetings with Inspectors, Supervisors, Managers, Contractors reporting on status of findings and corrective action plans
Ability to communicate effectively with all levels
Ability to follow up and follow through with action items and dependencies
Possess the ability to work across organizational lines within the company
Flexible and willing to step up to take on tasks beyond a job description as required
Ability to manage competing priorities

Responsibilities

Performs random independent audits per the Enhanced QA/QC Plan of construction and maintenance related activities related to safety, quality and productivity.
Assures that operating procedures, materials, policies and procedures are all aligned in order to prevent future gas safety and quality compliance issues.
Interfaces with construction workforce, public and regulatory agencies as required.
Prepares and communicates reports for various activities in the department.
Participates in team meetings to review findings and corrective actions.
Track trends and make further recommendations on the Enhanced QA/QC Plan.
Interface and support Operations, Gas Supply, Regulatory Affairs to achieve relevant Company goals.
