About The Position

Martin-Baker America's Inspector B is responsible for the inspection and testing of in‑house fabric details, fabric assemblies, and static/mechanical assemblies. This role ensures all products meet applicable drawings, standards, specifications, and quality requirements. The Inspector B also completes all related inspection documentation and reports. Martin-Baker America is a premier provider of advanced ejection and crashworthy seating systems across the United States and Canada. Their expertise encompasses crashworthy helicopter seat manufacturing, full lifecycle ejection seat maintenance, and critical component supply to sustain operational readiness, supporting aircrew safety and survivability.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Minimum of 2 years of inspection or similar experience

Nice To Haves

  • Proficient in specialized inspection tools, including pressure testers, coating‑thickness meters, conductivity meters, and hardness testers
  • Skilled in using standard precision measuring equipment such as micrometers, calipers, bore gages, and dial indicators
  • Strong ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and apply general shop math
  • Basic understanding of common manufacturing processes, including assembly methods, riveting, fastener installation, torque, plating, and painting
  • Competent with basic computer applications and digital documentation
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including accurate and clear report preparation
  • Able to work independently, manage daily workload efficiently, and maintain high attention to detail
  • Demonstrated teamwork and collaboration skills when working with peers, supervisors, and managers
  • Ability to provide guidance and technical support in areas of expertise

Responsibilities

  • Performing detailed visual and dimensional inspections of in‑house fabric details, fabric assemblies, and static or mechanical assemblies to ensure full compliance with engineering drawings, specifications, standards, work instructions, and purchase order requirements
  • Conduct a variety of functional and performance tests-including electrical, proof load, leak, pressure, and paint‑finish evaluations-as applicable to each product
  • Obtain and interpret all necessary inspection data
  • Select and properly use precise inspection instruments such as micrometers, calipers, bore gages, coating‑thickness meters, pressure testers, and check fixtures
  • Prepare and complete inspection documentation, including First Article Reports, First Piece Reports, and Nonconforming Material Reports
  • Adhere to all company procedures, work instructions, and safety policies
