The Inspector Apprentice role is responsible for verifying vehicle information against work order details, identifying any damage, missing parts, or mechanical issues through thorough inspections of customer vehicles. This includes noting damage or repairs to the frame/paint, engine noise, AC/heater operation, radio, and tire condition. The role also involves preparing and completing necessary documentation, setting up and performing day-end procedures, and maintaining knowledge of all policies and procedures. A key aspect of the job is writing electronic condition reports (ECR) and conducting courtesy walk-around inspections. The apprentice will also maintain knowledge of system capabilities, relevant software packages, and web-based applications, as well as staying updated on improvements and changes in body mechanical, frame labor, and inspection techniques. A strong commitment to safety is essential, demonstrated by following all safety and health procedures and actively participating in safety initiatives. The role may require overtime as dictated by business needs.
