About The Position

Altek Electronics, a Cyient DLM company, is a contract manufacturer serving various industries with expertise in PCB layout and design, PCB assembly, and upper-level chassis, control panels, and cable & harness assembly. They utilize LEAN manufacturing and Six Sigma principles and are certified to AS9100D, with operators certified to IPC-610, IPC-620, and J-STD, and are ITAR compliant.

Requirements

  • Good eyesight and hand coordination.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and correct mechanical problems.
  • Basic component identification skills.
  • Ability to work in a team environment with minimal supervision.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Ability to read & understand assembly documentation and all inspection criteria.
  • Must have a high school diploma/GED.
  • Previous soldering experience or training.
  • J-Std or IPC-A-610 certification required, or successful completion of certification program per an agreed upon timeline.

Responsibilities

  • Review AOI inspection for accurate, consistent detection of SMT paste, component placement and solder joint defects.
  • Load programs per documentation.
  • Using magnification aids and stereo-microscopes, inspect populated printed circuit boards and identify component misplacement and solder defects to IPC-A-610 standards.
  • Recognize problems in the operation process or with components and communicate those problems to machine operator for immediate correction.
  • Actively participates in quality initiatives by participating in problem solving, process improvements and performance measurements.
  • Responsible for understanding & following company, and or manufacturing guidelines/procedures.
  • Responsible for product quality as defined by internal and external customers, work instructions, specifications and procedures.
  • Responsible for following established safety rules & 6S.
  • Conduct in process and final inspections on PCB assemblies, sub-assemblies, and finished products.
  • Ensure that the product conforms to work instructions, IPC or J-STD standards, and internal quality/workmanship standards.
  • Identify and segregate nonconforming materials.
  • Complete daily inspection report denoting the acceptance and/or rejection rate all items in accordance with the standards defined within job traveler.
  • Supports supervisors and/or operators in the resolution of quality problems.
