About The Position

Primary responsibility is to perform inspections on incoming materials, first articles, in-process production parts, rework, and any other quality control requirements to verify conformance to approved drawings, specifications, and any applicable regulatory requirements. Other duties and responsibilities include the performance of product testing and dimensional verification, as well as product and process auditing and reporting any discrepancies to production leads and supervisory personnel.

Requirements

  • 3 – 5 years of relative QA/QC experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret inspection, measuring, and test equipment, including tape measures, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring devices required to perform dimensional verifications.
  • Employees should be familiar with current ISO requirements and with engineering drawings.
  • Must be able to read proficiently, write legibly, and communicate effectively verbally.
  • Basic mathematical skills are required.  Ability to add, subtract multiply and divide.
  • Ability to understand and carry out detailed written and verbal instructions.
  • Ability to move about the facility to perform the required duties and responsibilities.
  • Lift up to 35 pounds.
  • Must wear all required PPE in a given production work area.
  • Occasionally stoop, kneel, and crouch.
  • Stand and/or sit on stools in one area for up to two (2) hours at a time.

Nice To Haves

  • Preferred SAP experience.

Responsibilities

  • Perform random in-process inspections to verify the specifications of the process are being maintained.
  • Perform first piece inspection upon completion of setups.
  • Understand the process for product acceptance and rejection. Demonstrate what happens if product fails to meet approved drawings, specifications, and/or any regulatory requirements.
  • Generate Quality Notifications (QN) in SAP for production-related discrepancies.
  • Report any discrepancies to the respective production leads and/or supervisor.
  • Know the options which are considered when making a disposition on nonconforming product, the importance of immediately notifying management and preventing the use of the product.
  • Assist in the coordination of rework and subsequent re-inspection.
  • Perform product and component testing.
  • Train employees in the quality policies, visual acceptability, measurement processes and process procedures as required.
  • Participate in product and process audits, as required.
  • Perform other departmental duties and tasks as assigned by the Quality Manager.
