About The Position

In this role you are responsible for supporting highly complex quality control tasks with substantial technical knowledge to address manufacturing abnormalities, working under limited supervision. This position will be based in Glenville NY, but temporarily based in Menands NY.

Requirements

Experience with simple measurement and calibration tools required (micrometers, calipers, etc.).
Experience with simple measurements, and document measurements required.
Experience with inspections and audits in some capacity is required with training available as needed (Welding inspections, pressure testing, hydro testing, HIPOT testing, etc.).
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
Proficiency with Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T).
Knowledgeable about metrology, materials, calibration, auditing and inspection techniques.
Demonstrated ability to utilize relevant hand tools for these purposes (micrometers, calipers, and other simple hand tools).
High School Diploma, Vocational Education, or equivalent required.

Nice To Haves

Experience in quality inspection in a manufacturing facility, preferably in a regulated environment (e.g. automotive, aerospace, medical device).
Experience inspecting with Coordinate Measuring Machine’s (CMM) preferred but not required.
Experience with SAP, Windchill, and MS Office preferred.
Quality inspection experience or hands on mechanical aptitude skills and be trainable where needed.
Associate’s degree or higher preferred.

Responsibilities

Measurement of parts, fixtures, tooling, assemblies and finished medical devices utilizing appropriate tools and fixtures in accordance with approved procedures and specifications.
Execute Quality Inspection tasks in SAP/MES to ensure timely and accurate inventory control.
Accurately documenting test data and observations, and retaining paperwork and electronic records.
Organize and summarize inspection/test results and prepare reports utilizing Good Documentation Practices (GDP).
Provide input for continuous improvement of inspection procedures, specifications and processes.
Participate in internal, ISO 13485 and other audits/inspections.
Initiate nonconformance reports on defective material and provide support to Operations and Supplier Quality to aid in the investigation and disposition of product.
Assist in qualification/validation activities and perform actions to resolve issues and implement corrective measures.
