About The Position

Winpak Control Group is seeking an Inspection machine operator to join the Maintenance Department based out of Norwood, NJ. In this role, you will play a critical role in ensuring product quality, safety, and compliance by operating and monitoring inspection equipment in a cGMP-regulated manufacturing environment. This position requires strong attention to detail, strict adherence to safety and quality standards, and a proactive mindset focused on continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • Strong visual acuity, including good color perception.
  • Basic math skills, including metric conversions.
  • Ability to read, write, and follow written instructions and specifications.
  • Proficiency in using a tape measure accurately.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities, particularly related to inspection equipment and processes.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs., perform frequent bending, sitting, walking and standing.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience operating inspection or manufacturing equipment in a regulated environment.
  • Familiarity with cGMP standards and quality systems.
  • Experience with computerized production reporting systems.

Responsibilities

  • Comply with all safety rules, company policies, and current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP), and actively support continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Safely start up, operate, monitor, and shut down inspection equipment, with full knowledge of safety and emergency stop systems.
  • Read, understand, and follow job specification sheets; thread web material, manage web tension, and verify correct rewind configurations prior to and during production.
  • Perform visual inspections using camera systems; accurately identify, flag, and segregate defective material, and promptly report delamination or quality issues to the Shift Supervisor and QA Technician.
  • Take ownership of assigned inspection equipment to ensure proper operation, care, and performance.
  • Accurately log into and out of systems for each job and record production data, including setup, run time, and disturbances, in accordance with reporting requirements.
  • Move finished rolls to designated locations and maintain complete, timely, and accurate production documentation.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and GMP-compliant work area, including end-of-shift housekeeping, proper waste disposal, and strict adherence to hygiene and food safety rules.
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors and management regarding production needs, quality concerns, and operational issues, and perform other duties as assigned.
