About The Position

Support Inspection department in technical needs. This role involves implementing and maintaining automatic inspection systems, acting as a liaison for quality issues, assisting with inspection standards and corrective actions, reviewing claims, performing audits of inspection records, providing support as Calibration Manager, and assisting with the department's safety program. The position also includes supplemental functions such as participation in continuous improvement programs, setting performance expectations for direct reports, leading by example, and embracing change.

Requirements

  • Minimum of a B.S. Degree in a science related degree (Metallurgy / Material Science, Mechanical / Industrial Engineer, Physics / Chemistry, Computer Science with Inspection system experience)
  • Two (2) years of relevant work experience
  • Excellent computer skills
  • Good time management and organizational skills
  • Good communication skill
  • Mobility in plant
  • Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, etc.
  • Frequently required to make use of their hands for technical tasks
  • Occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
  • Visual ability with or without correction
  • Communication abilities
  • Work in compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulations
  • Comply with company safety rules, policies, procedures, as well as job specific work instructions and JSAs
  • Report the absence of or defect in any personal protective equipment or clothing to the Supervisor or Manager immediately
  • Use and wear the personal protective equipment, protective devices and clothing that is required (Metatarsal boots, Safety glasses, Hearing protection, Hard Hat)
  • Must follow all Lockout Tag out (LOTO) guidelines for designated equipment and machinery
  • Must follow all Environmental Policies and Regulations
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area
  • Abiding by the Acerinox Code of Conduct
  • Keeping oneself informed through your company email account
  • Maintaining your Dynamic Policy Profile and all assigned learnings therein
  • Abiding by all security procedures

Responsibilities

  • Implement and Maintain automatic inspection systems and data (e.g., Parsytec, Cognex)
  • Review new equipment and techniques
  • Work as liaison between QC and Operations and Inspection departments in solving quality related issues
  • Assist with data analysis and reports to aid investigations
  • Assist in maintaining inspection standards and work instructions
  • Assist in completing internal and external corrective actions
  • Provide Claims review and Internal missed defect reports
  • Perform analysis/audits of inspection records for accuracy and compliance with Work Instructions
  • Provide support as Calibration Manager
  • Assist Supervisor with the Inspection department safety program
  • Other duties and special projects as assigned by Inspection Supervisor
  • Participation in relevant continuous improvement programs
  • Set appropriate performance management expectations for direct reports
