This role serves as the Lead Inspector for floor inspection and directs the daily activities of 10-12 employees. The Lead Inspector is responsible for performing inspections, tests, and/or audits of parts, units, materials, and all levels of assemblies as needed with regards to quality control specifications. This includes interpreting manufacturing drawings, diagrams, specifications, and lists to approve or reject units for in-process or final assemblies. The role also involves inspecting and maintaining support documentation, verifying requirements when a nonconformance is identified, and reviewing and reporting performance data to ensure in-process and finished products meet quality requirements. The Lead Inspector determines or assists in determining methods and procedures necessary for inspection and may interface with program quality or supplier quality teams. This position acts independently to support peer training with methods and procedures on new assignments and is expected to help identify when additional support is needed related to quality inspection.
