About The Position

Requirements

• Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical principles of elevators, escalators, and related equipment.
• Strong ability to identify potential hazards, defects, and code violations.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for interacting with various stakeholders.
• Strong ability to manage a workload, coordinate schedules, and maintain detailed records.
• Previous experience in elevator inspection, installation, repair, or maintenance is required.

Nice To Haves

• In-depth knowledge of state and local elevator codes and regulations, such as the American National Standard Safety Code for Elevators.
• Ability to read and interpret architectural, engineering, and installation drawings.

Responsibilities

• Schedule and organize inspections for elevator and escalator systems.
• Provide technical guidance to inspectors and other staff.
• Conduct on-site inspections to verify compliance with safety codes and regulations.
• Examine elevator and escalator work plans and specifications to ensure they meet code requirements.
• Prepare detailed reports on inspection findings, deficiencies, and required corrective actions.
• Follow up on previously identified violations to confirm that necessary repairs have been completed.
• Clearly communicate inspection results and requirements to building owners, maintenance personnel, and regulatory authorities.
• Maintain records using relevant software and mobile devices.
• Prepare reports and present findings in court or administrative hearings when necessary.
