About The Position

The Inspection Associate is responsible for receiving orders, gathering information, and ensuring all equipment is in good operating condition, calibrated, correct, and clean. This role requires punctuality, adherence to federal, provincial, and company regulations (including quality, safety, and environmental standards), and support for the ISO certificate(s) and corrective/preventive action process. The associate must read, understand, and adhere to the company's Business Management System (BMS), including quality, safety, and environmental policies and procedures. They will attend external meetings, represent Bureau Veritas professionally and ethically, and communicate any issues promptly to the Operations Supervisor and/or Dispatcher. Key duties include obtaining samples, gauging various storage and transport units, accurately labeling sample containers, calculating quantities, completing paperwork, and delivering samples to the laboratory or client facilities. The role also involves reviewing discrepancies, maintaining a 24-hour on-call status, participating in company meetings, and keeping company vehicles well-maintained.

Responsibilities

  • Receives orders, obtains information, and gathers paperwork from Operations Supervisor(s) on movements.
  • Ensures all equipment is in good operating condition, calibration verification, correct and clean, including safety and monitoring equipment.
  • Reports to job-site punctually and observes all applicable federal and province regulations and standards, Terminal, Refinery, and/or vessel requirements; including quality, safety and environmental standards.
  • Supports the ISO certificate(s) and assists in the corrective/preventive action process.
  • Reads, understands and adheres to the company Business Management System; including Quality, Safety, and Environmental policies and procedures.
  • Attends “Key Meetings” with external personnel ashore and/or abroad.
  • Represents the company by appearance and conduct, behaving ethically at all times.
  • Communicates any problems, discrepancies, or other noteworthy incidents to the Operations Supervisor and/or Dispatcher without delay.
  • Obtains samples, gauges shore tanks, vessel(s), barge(s), railcar(s), and/or tank truck(s) as specified per job order.
  • Labels sample containers with full and correct identifying data, including location of sample, material, type of sample, safety information, time collected, etc.
  • Promptly and accurately calculates quantities and completes all required paperwork and distributes copies appropriately.
  • Promptly and safely delivers samples to a laboratory for analysis or retain, or client facilities for analysis or retain.
  • Reviews any discrepancies with Operations Supervisor, signs and returns job order form.
  • Maintains a 24-hour on-call status.
  • Supports and participates in the company Business Management System (BMS).
  • Attends company meetings as required.
  • Keeps company-provided vehicle well maintained.
